A little warm today but much less humid. If it wasn't for the bright sun, it would have been perfect. I was hot and I was thirsty, but not sweaty. That means my sweat was working by evaporating and cooling me off. There was also a nice breeze.
I took several walking breaks in addition to slowing down to drink at mile 3 and 6. I also tried the Gatorade energy chews again. I ate two before I started, two at mile 3 and two at mile 6, taken with plenty of water. Much easier to eat than Dots. And they didn't bother my stomach this time like last time when I bought them and ate all 6 at once. But then again, I didn't really notice any amazing burst of energy, so I'm not sure if they worked. I guess I didn't know what to expect from them.
Overall, a good 8 mile effort considering the heat. My pace wasn't bad either, 8:37 average. After mile 6 my legs were very heavy, probably from my track run yesterday and not enough sleep last night. I'll do better tonight.
In other news, I managed to get out of bed and do 2 sets of 10 pushups and 2 sets of 15 crunches. And I contacted a potential running coach. I think if I want to take my running to the next level, that's what I will need to do. And she's a new coach so her price is reasonable.
